1. Hair transplant / Hair restoration
The scalp hair is an important aspect of human beauty.
Healthy looking hair enhances impression and symbolizes health.
If you have thin hair, getting your hair back improves your sense of confidence and self-image.
Hair restoration surgery is a long term solution to hair loss problem. The hair transplant surgery is a process in which hair from the back of the scalp is taken and implanted over the part of the scalp which has gone bald.
Hair in the region between ears on the back of head will continue to grow throughout the life of most men (donor dominance) and this is the main reason behind the success of hair transplant surgery.
    Hair Transplant Options –
There are two popular hair transplant options available today – a. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)- is a method of hair transplant in which individual hair follicular units are harvested as donor hair. b. Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)- is a surgical procedure where naturally occurring, permanent hair bearing areas (like at the back of the scalp) are harvested as strip and individual hair are separated for transplant.
Both options have their advantages and disadvantages
    Procedure
The procedure is done under local anesthesia and sedation if needed. The effects of the anesthesia last for about 6 hours.
The scalp is shampooed and treated with an antibacterial agent before the donor scalp is harvested. Individual hair are harvested and prepared for transplantation.
Small micro blades or fine needles are used to puncture the required site for receiving the grafts. The grafts are placed in such a manner so as to provide a realistic hair pattern. The results are very satisfying with minimum or unnoticeable scarring.
    Recovery:
You need not stay in the hospital; in fact can go home in the evening. A loose cap is worn after procedure for protection. The area needs to be regularly dressed to avoid infection.
Shampooing starts two days after the surgery.
Hair growth becomes evident after 4-5 months and continues to grow over 1 year or so.

Mesotherapy – involves injection of mixture of various materials at the site of requirement.
It can be used for various purposes including hair treatment.

Five to six sessions over a period of 4-6 months are necessary to achieve noticeable result. Additional sessions may be required for maintenance of results.
    Associated risks/side effects –
Pain, redness, swelling, sensitivity, bleeding/bumps at injection site, infection, rashes etc..
    Recovery
It is fast with minimal downtime. Regular cctivities activities can be resumed immediately after session. In rare instances, pain and/or swelling may prolong the recovery period.
  2. PRP Treatment
PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy – involves injection of plasma (rich in platelets and growth factors) separated from blood, into the scalp with very thin needles. It is a good method to stimulate hair growth to achieve healthy, hairy scalp.
